A Blind Man Gets His Guns Back

A judge in New Jersey has ruled that even those who are blind have the right to keep and bear arms. Steven Hopler, a gun collector, had been trying to get his guns returned to him since 2008. Police took them from his home after he accidentally shot himself in the shin in a cleaning accident.

The prosecutor argued that he was a danger to others but that didn’t fly. They even used claims about his alcohol drinking habits, in an effort to have him prohibited, but that didn’t work. The prosecutor says he will appeal the decision. Hopler lost his sight because of diabetes by the way.
