If you have a pulse, you can probably deduce that background checks, won’t have a noticeable effect on crime. What would compel those with bad intentions to follow such laws? Criminals by their very nature don’t obey laws and this would be another in a long line of them. So it’s no surprise that some have to face the fact that “universal background checks” won’t prevent violent crime.
From phony terms such as the “gun show loophole,” to a disingenuous concern for inalienable rights, gun control supporters are transparent. To them any restriction is a necessity because it’s one more parry in the death by a thousand cuts end game. You can bet that such people have their eyes on complete registration.
Researchers in 2000 reviewed more than a decade of crime data in states with and without background checks. They found no significant difference in murder rates in states that had implemented the checks and states that had not, according to the study, which was published in The Journal of the American Medical Association.
