Illinois Gun Laws Challenged in Federal Court

Michael Moore, of Champaign, Illinois, and the Second Amendment Foundation Inc., are suing the Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the state of Illinois, for prohibiting Illinois residents from from being able to “in some fashion, carry a firearm in public.” The hearing is scheduled Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Springfield. Illinois remains the only state in the nation prohibits nearly everyone from carrying a firearm anywhere that is not their property. An identical lawsuit was filed in a U.S. District Court in southern Illinois by the Illinois State Rifle Association and one plaintiff. Looks like things are moving along nicely today, post Heller.
